The objective of this study was to develop a new method to degradation of Malachite Green in aqueous solution. This developed method is based on the increase in the rate of degradation by using persulphate and catalysis under ultrasound irradiation. The results showed that decolorization follows pseudo-first order reaction kinetics. An ultrasonic bath with frequency of 35 kHz was used to investigate the effect of different methods such as only US , US+PS , US+Fe, US+Co , US+Fe(resin) , US+Co(resin) , US+PS+Fe , US+PS+Co.The effect of pH, dosage of persulphate as well as catalyst;dosage of Fe ,dosage of Co ,dosage of Fe(resin) , dosage of Co(resin) and contact time was investigated. FT-IR spectra determined changes in bands. Results showed that US system coupled with PS and Co was the best method among the others.
